Preston Trautschold, 10, Joins Father Mike On Track At Super DIRT Week

OSWEGO, N.Y. — Mike Trautschold has spent more than 25 years behind the wheel of a race car, but this weekend at Oswego Speedway, he'll be sharing the Super DIRT Week experience with his 10-year-old son, Preston.

The Roscoe, New York, father and son are both entered in Saturday's feature events, with Mike driving the No. 28 Big Block Modified and Preston competing in the No. 20 DIRTcar Sportsman Modified.

Preston began racing at age 5, following in the footsteps of his father and older brother, Mason. He has enjoyed a successful 2026 season, with his team's website reporting 26 Limited Sportsman feature victories and track championships at Utica-Rome Speedway and Glen Ridge Motorsports Park.

Mike has had some strong runs of his own this season, including leading 26 laps of a Super DIRTcar Series feature at Land of Legends Raceway in August before a broken driveshaft ended his bid for the victory.

The two will be looking to qualify for Saturday's main events, with Preston competing for a starting spot in the 75-lap Sportsman feature and Mike attempting to make the field for the 200-lap Big Block Modified race.

Fans attending Super DIRT Week can find the Trautscholds in the pit area at Oswego Speedway this weekend. Preston has a website, so you can see, watch and read more details about his journey so far.
