Sweet Sweep Again For Honeycutt In CARS Tour Double At Wilkesboro

NORTH WILKESBORO, N.C. (July 17, 2026) – Repeating his recent dominance with the zMAX CARS Tour, Kaden Honeycutt swept both the Pro Late Model and Late Model Stock Car features Friday night at North Wilkesboro Speedway for his second such double down of the season.

Honeycutt, who previously became the first driver to ever win both CARS Tour classes in the same night back in May at Ace Speedway, completed the feat this time in both dominating and tense fashion.

He led all but one lap in the Skyline National Bank 100 for the Late Model Stocks, but had to fend off a hard-charging T.J. DeCaire in the Pro Late Model Spears Manufacturing 75.

Several well-timed cautions in the second half of the Pro Late Model race kept Honeycutt out of traffic and allowed him to prevail, kicking off the sweep even as he needed IV fluids prior to the start of the nightcap.

Fellow Truck Series star Layne Riggs was onsite, suited up and ready to relieve Honeycutt if necessary for the second race – something that Honeycutt didn’t even know until afterward – but Honeycutt was determined to see the entire program through.

“I definitely don’t show up to run second, third, fourth or fifth,” Honeycutt said. “That’s why I am kind of a hard guy to work with, but when we have results like this, it makes it all worth it, right? I’m 23, but I don’t claim to know the answer to everything. I try to give [my teams] the best possible advice I can to be a couple spots better, and we’ve done that this year.”

Honeycutt’s Pro Late Model score for JC Motorsports was his third straight in that division this season with the CARS Tour, while his Late Model Stock win with Tom Usry Racing – of which Honeycutt is a co-owner – followed his recent triumph with that outfit in South Boston Speedway’s prestigious Thunder Road Harley Davidson 200.

Overall, Honeycutt now has 14 career CARS Tour victories – six in the Late Model Stocks and eight in the Pro Late Models.

“It’s been really humbling and incredible,” Honeycutt said. “On the late model side, I’ve felt so much more comfortable this year. I can’t say it’s because I’m getting older, but I guess it’s showing up to the racetrack and not have to try and think so hard. I’ve ran multiple races, so I know what to expect and I can adjust my race car.

“That’s what we’ve done a really, really good job of on the late model side is adjusting for race trim. That’s helped out a lot.”

Behind DeCaire, Conner Jones, polesitter Luke Baldwin, and Mason Walters filled out the Pro Late Model top five.

But just being in the conversation was plenty for DeCaire to smile about in his debut with the LowCountry Motorsports team.

“I’m really, really happy with what we had,” DeCaire said. “We brought a great product to the racetrack. [Everybody at LowCountry Motorsports] did a phenomenal job. We unloaded yesterday and I don’t think we made a change all weekend. The car was just that good.”

In Late Model Stock action, reigning NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series title winner Corey Heim – whose TRICON Garage No. 11 Honeycutt took over this year in the Truck Series – chased Honeycutt through traffic in the waning laps but had to settle for second.

Heim did, however, pick up the $10,000 Flodium bonus money for car owner Barry Nelson and the No. 12 Nelson Motorsports team.

Jake Bollman, Connor Hall, and Brenden Queen were the rest of the top five in the Late Model Stock main. In a rare late model appearance, Chase Elliott finished 14th for JR Motorsports in the car the late Kyle Busch was supposed to have driven at North Wilkesboro before his untimely passing in May.
