IMPERIAL, Pa. (May 28, 2026) – A.J. Flick made Western PA Speedweek history Thursday night at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway.
By dominating the 20-lap feature at the half-mile dirt oval, Flick earned his eighth career Western PA Speedweek victory, moving past Dale Blaney into sole position of first place on the mini-series’ all-time wins list.
Flick started from the outside pole and led all 20 circuits for the $4,000 score, which included a $500 bonus to the winner’s purse from Krill Recycling, LLC.
The 33-year-old from Apollo, Pa., has won both races thus far in Western PA Speedweek competition.
Cale Thomas raced from ninth to second aboard the Rudzik Racing No. 49x, followed by Ricky Peterson, Carl Bowser, and Mark Smith.
Blaney, who was in the field Thursday driving brother Dave’s familiar red No. 10, finished seventh. Polesitter Michael Bauer faded to 15th in the final rundown.
Twenty-eight cars entered night two of Western PA Speedweek, with Blaney topping qualifying at a stout 16.204-second clip.
Brandon Matus, Thomas, and Flick won their respective heat races, with David Kalb Jr. topping the B-main.
Western PA Speedweek continues Friday night at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa.
