Hunter Yeany Teams With Kyle Beattie Racing For 2025 Tulsa Shootout

CONCORD, N.C. –Versatile open wheel racer Hunter Yeany, 19, of Virginia Beach, Virginia has teamed up with North Carolina-based Kyle Beattie Racing to compete in the 40th Annual Tulsa Shootout, the largest event for Micro Sprint race cars in the world.

Yeany is a highly adaptable racer who has competed successfully in US F4, US Formula Regional, and GB F3 cars and last year earned five top-five finishes in eight starts in the USF2000 Pro Series including a win at NOLA Motorsports Park.

He practiced with the team at Millbridge Speedway in Salisbury, North Carolina last Sunday, and was very happy with the results.   “I had several opportunities to go out and get laps.  I started on the bottom of the track and just worked my way up closer to the wall each time out.  You have to run these cars an inch off the wall there.  I went out with London (McKenzie, a non-wing micro racer for the team) and we had a series of little match races at the end.  I was comfortable in the car and had a lot of fun in the car and with the team.   I’m looking forward to racing the car on Saturday at Millbridge to get ready for Tulsa at the end of the month.”

Yeany will indeed race the car on December 7th in preparation for the Tulsa Shootout, which begins on December 31st and runs through January 4th, 2025, indoors at the Tulsa Expo Raceway in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He will compete in the Winged Outlaw and Winged A-Class divisions at Tulsa, racing against the best in the division in addition to top racers from other disciplines like NASCAR Cup Series legend Kyle Busch.

Beattie, whose 13-year-old son Karter has won twice this year in the Micro Sprint division at Millbridge and will be racing at Tulsa for the second straight year, is happy to be working with Yeany.  “Hunter has had a lot of success in a variety of different divisions,” he said.  “This is a different kind of challenge for him, and we’re excited to welcome him to our team.  He looked really good in the practice.  He adapted well and got faster and more confident each time out.  We have worked with racers from a variety of different backgrounds over the years, and it’s always fun to have a racer come in from another discipline and to allow them to experience something new that can add to their skill set.  Micros are a much different type of car from what Hunter is used to, but he did well for his first time and we’re excited to help him continue to progress when we go racing on Saturday.”

The 40th Annual Tulsa Shootout will be streamed live via FloRacing.com.  Racing begins on Tuesday, December 31st, and continues through Saturday, January 4th, 2025.  Over 1600 entries worldwide are expected for this event, with racers coveting an immortal “Golden Driller” trophy for winning their A-Main.   For more information about the Tulsa Shootout, visit their website at www.TulsaShootout.com.
