TELFORD, SHROPSHIRE – Finn Robinson picked up his first UK Modified feature win of 2024 at Buxton Raceway last weekend and catapulted himself to the lead in the Tarmac portion of the 2024 season championship standings in the process.  

Robinson, 20, charged from the sixth starting position to win his first of two heat races, serving up the quickest lap of the day in the process.  He started last in heat two and winged his way through the field to finish fourth, again hitting the fastest lap of the race. 

For the 15-lap feature, the talented young racer again started in sixth position.  He avoided an early two-car incident and by lap six he was chasing down Keith Maden in the No. 276 and Dave Tomlinson in the No. 885 for the lead. 

He picked off Tomlinson in two laps to move into second and began pressuring leader Maden. Five laps later, Maden broke loose, and the sharp-looking No. 24 of Robinson drove around him on the outside to take the lead and the win. 

“I couldn’t have asked for a better day all in all,” the happy winner said with a smile after the race. “As soon as I started turning laps in practice, I knew we’d created a monster. A good, hard, tough, but clean race for the win there in the feature. I loved every minute of it and hats off to Keith for an incredible battle. My arms are now very sore from trying to make that winning move work! There is a rumor that I’ve set/come close to setting the lap record for the track so will certainly but eager to see what the outcome of that is…only time will tell.  Thank you to my sponsors, crew and fans for everything they do for me.  We will all enjoy this win and then start preparing for the next race at Northampton Shaleway on May 4.”
