CANNOCK, WEST MIDLANDS -- Team Photo -- National UK Modified Championship Points leader Finn Robinson of Telford, Shropshire started fifth in rainy conditions, took the lead on lap two and scored a very impressive victory in the UK Modified event at Hednesford Hills Raceway last weekend.  
 
Robinson, 19, is in his rookie season of competition with the UK Modified division, where he’s won six times and currently leads the national championship standings as well as the standings for the tarmac (asphalt) events on the schedule. 

After fighting through a misfire in his engine in his first heat race to finish third, and battling to a second-place finish in heat two,  Robinson started fifth in the feature event and ended up winning by a large margin. He set fast time for the day with a 15.502 second lap.  

 “This was a heck of a weekend from the team and it was surely one that we needed,” Robinson said following the event.  "We were coming off a bad last few races and an even worse British Championship race, so I wouldn't have pictured a much better way for this weekend to turn out. There was some really tough racing, and once again tough conditions, but we were able to put on a show and walk away with a feature win.  Hopefully, we've gotten our mojo back and we can try to see this national championship through the final few rounds.
